Kiril Stankow Conductor

Kiril Stankow first attracted international attention in 2013 as a finalist of the renowned Besançon conducting competition. Since then he has been Deputy Head of Musical Studies at the Oper Leipzig later followed by two seasons as Kapellmeister and musical assistant to the chief-conductor of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. Kiril was then appointed as first Kapellmeister and Deputy GMD at the Theater Vorpommern.

Furthermore he has been invited to conduct performances at the opera houses in Mannheim and Magdeburg, orchestral programs with the MDR Symphony, the Deutsche Philharmonie Merck, the Neue Philharmonie Munich as well as concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestras in Neubrandenburg, Jena and Freiberg. European engagements include conducting the Orchestre National de Lorraine in France and the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra.

Kiril is also highly sought after for his pedagogic talents and inspiring mentorship of young musicians. He premiered to great acclaim in 2018 in the Elbphilharmonie with the Norddeutsche Orchesterakademie.

Since the season 2021/22 Kiril Stankow will be the first koordinierter Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Kassel.
